I get this very same problem sometimes on my epia box when I try to autostart mythbackend<br>
after a reboot.<br>

I kill the mythbackend process and restart manually&nbsp; ... if I recall &quot;/etc/init.d/mythbackend stop&quot;<br>
followed by &quot;/etc/init.d/mythbackend start&quot;.<br>
<br>
I don't know the exact cause ... but the restart has never failed to solve the problem.<br>
