<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">I recently purchased a technisat airstar2, and I'm having trouble getting the remote going. The remote comes with a little infrared serial dongle, and neither the remote nor the dongle seem to have anything that identifies them - I assumed the "serial" driver would be appropriate (is that right?). </FONT></P>

<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">I'm compiled the kernel with serial support as a module:</FONT>

<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">I'm compiled lirc using the serial driver.</FONT>

<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">LIRC_OPTS="--with-driver=serial" emerge lirc</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">I then rebooted and did a:</FONT>

<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">modprobe lirc_serial</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">Which produces the following output in dmesg:</FONT>

<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">I then run "mode2 -d /dev/lirc0", but I don't get any output when I start bashing buttons. Should I be? (the lirc site seems to suggest that this is not appropriate for all remotes).</FONT></P>
