<FONT face="Default Sans Serif, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size=2><FONT face="Default Sans Serif, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size=2><div>Hello all.&nbsp;</div><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>I've tried to work this out over at the knoppmyth forums, since that's what I'm using (r5a16), but not a lot has come out of it - the thread is here if anyone wants a little more info. (<A href="http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5560" target=blank>http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5560</A>)</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Basically, I'm trying to get nuv2avi to run as a user job, but it's just not working.&nbsp; The job will show in the "Job Status" page of Mythweb, but moves from Queued to Finished without actually having done anything.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>The problem really stems from the lack of information I've got about the user job command-line substitutions.&nbsp; The command I used at first was </DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>/usr/local/bin/nuv2avi -i %FILE% -o /myth/tv/%TITLE%-%SUBTITLE%.avi</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>I've also tried appending .nuv to %FILE%, because I've got no clue what's contained in %FILE%, but it didn't make a difference.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>What appears to be happening&nbsp; is that the above string is getting passed to the shell literally, without mythtv making the appropriate substitutions.&nbsp; Which would explain why I find what appears to be a "No such File or Directory" error from nuv2avi in my mythbackend.log.&nbsp; The unfortunate thing is that nuv2avi doesn't let the user know what file it can't find, so I can't get confirmation that it's looking for "%FILE%" rather than the actual file name.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Has anyone gotten *any* user job to run successfully?&nbsp; I've also had problems with running simple user jobs like "touch /home/mythtv/userjobtest.txt"&nbsp; That job hangs in the queue, and I end up having to remove it through mythfrontend.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Sorry if this has been covered in the past - I've tried&nbsp;to dig as much as possible before posing this question.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Thanks,</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Andrew</DIV></FONT></FONT>
