mysql' or issue <!--StartFragment -->'mysql -u root mysql' , i get the error:

connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) .
And if I type in mythtv from the commandline, all that happens is

'/etc/init.d/mysql start'.... but I get the error:

be nice to just get the stupid database to work.</FONT></P>
