My MythTV box is set up so that the video and the analog audio are output to a modulator that injects the signal onto cable channel 94 throughout the house.

What I'd like to do is enable digital audio output as well, and feed the digital output directly to my stereo for dolby digital suround, better sound quality, etc.

My question is whether is is possible to send the audio signal to both analog and digital outputs simultaneously. I am currently using the onboard analog audio. My mobo includes a digital audio output as well, but there is very very little documentation on it, especially for Linux.

My setup is as follows:

Biostar M7NCG-400 mobo, nVidia chipset

Onboard audio video & LAN

Athlon XP 2500+

256MB RAM

200GB & 160GB Hard Drives

Hauppauge WinTV tuner card

Fedora Core1

MythTV 0.15

Any thought?
