everyone who made suggestions. I finally got the DWL120 working and
connecting on boot, which was a royal pain. The at76c503 driver seems
to require that ESSID broadcast be turned on, which I'm not entirely happy with,
but it works. Even does 128bit encryption, which the windows driver for
the DWL120 never did.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

remaining hardware problem I have is the X10 remote - I confirmed that the USB
transceiver is working by installing everything on my windows box and testing

~/.lircrc, ~/.mythtv/lircrc and /etc/lircd.conf files set up, lsmod shows
the lirc_atiusb driver is loaded, I have the alias char-major-61 lirc_dev and
alias lirc_dev lirc_atiusb lines in modules.conf, the lircd daemon is
started.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
