<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">I got another PVR-250 and this one seems to work so I went on to the next step in Jarod's guide. Unfortunately I have hit another snag with getting LIRC to work properly. Everything has installed properly (following the directions given in the guide). However, when I try</FONT> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">'/usr/bin/irw', it immediately dumps me back to the prompt. Checking the /var/log/messges file, I found the following information:</FONT></P>

<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">If I check the status of the lircd service (</FONT><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">/sbin/service lircd status), I get 'lircd dead but subsys locked' in response. I am using a homebrew serial IR receiver that works with WinLIRC on my Windows PC. I have loaded the tivo lircd.conf file into the /etc directory. I did a search of the mailing list and while I found people with similar issues, I never really caught a solution. Any help would definitely be apprechiated.</FONT></P>
