it. The PVR 350 can encode and decode at the same time. Both engines
are contained on a single chip, and they are two completely different types of
tasks. The reason why somebody would want it is because they have only one
pci slot. Or they only have one left and need a second tuner. Xcard
is nice because of the ability to do component and DVD playback, but you are not
going to get that functionality in linux.....yet. Somebody may be working
on copying the magic they work with the transcoding of mpeg4 to mpeg2 in the
windows drivers, but I am sure it's a long way off. Getting the mpeg2
playback to work will probably be easy, but not mpeg4 as it is not native to the
decoder on the Xcard.</DIV>
