<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I have a VIA VT8233 sound card built into my VIA
KM400 motherboard. It has a SPDIF output port that I'd like to use. I am
using version 0.9.8-13 of the ALSA driver (snd-via82xx) that is packaged by
ATrpms. If I try this:</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>mplayer -ac hwac3 -ao alsa9 -vo null
/var/vids/test.vob</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>

VOB file to the receiver through the SPDIF output. This also
works:</FONT></DIV>

recordings in MythTV produces no sound on the SPDIF output (it does produce
sound on the analog output). How can I get all sounds to play through the
SPDIF output?</FONT></DIV>
