<DIV>I am attempting to install and configure MythTv onto the knoppix live linux cd,www.knoppix.net. I have managed to build using cvs and I am able to run the fromtend however so far when I try to run the TV application I get only a black screen with no sound. I have beenresearching online and discovered that this will be the case if I don't have sound set up correctly.</DIV>

<DIV>I am using a pIII 700 with 650 ram a sblive sound card and a ati all in wonder rage tv card. I can watch tv with sound using xawtv.</DIV>

<DIV>My question is does mythTv require alsa to run or is it possible to configure it to run using OSS.</DIV>

<DIV>Also has anyone else managed to get this to work. Keep in mind I want to run the whole mythTv program from the cd and store the recording either on a hd or over the network, preferably over the network using samba. </DIV>
