<P>I am new to Linux and am getting ready to pull the trigger on a new system dedicated to run MythTV and perhaps some MAME Roms.  I have a few questions that I hope will be easy enough to answer (...and I have reviewed the history, but still haven't got real clear answers on them).</P>
<P>My system will be:<BR>Athlon  1.47, 512MB RAM, KT333 Motherboard, nVidia based GeForce4 8x 64MB 500Mhz, AverTV Studio tuner card.</P>
<P>1) Any success using the AverTV tuner card?<BR>2) What is the recommended flavor of Linux (e.g. Debian, RedHat, Mandrake)?<BR>3) Is the video card ok to work with MythTV?<BR>4) What optoins are there for satellite users?</P>
<P>I haven't bought anything yet (although I am looking to buy within the next two or three days), so I have much flexibility in my choices.  I am looking at the AverTV tuner card because it is so much cheaper than the WinTV PVR-250.  </P>
<P>Any assistance here is greatly appreciated.</P>
