Several ways, the easiest if to tell your display manager to disable it:

For gdm3
edit /etc/gdm3/custom.conf
add or uncomment:

WaylandEnable=false


For sddm
edit /etc/sddm.conf or add/edit a file in /etc/sddm.conf.d
find (or add) the [Wayland] section and add:

Enable=false
