[mythtv-users] sluggish frontend

I setup a BE and db machine that used TLS for mariadb queries
I found the FE sluggish
  play a recording
  press <space>
  
  there is a noticable delay to audio and video start/stop cica 250-500ms.

Telling the db to not use TLS and the sluggish behavior is gone!

The recent protocol debacle left me with days of rebuilding FEs and the BE.
I also needed to rebuild my workstation distro. (my main FE)

Building the FE (and not using TLS) on openSuSE slowroll response of FE was crisp.
But the zypper repos were down all day Friday.
In frustration I built with debian 13.
(cmake said “no ffmpeg”)
but it installed the python stuff and configure installed programs so I got a working FE
All good except the FE is sluggish like the TLS db operation

Anybody using  debian is your FE crisp?
Any ideas why mine may be sluggish?

BE is a 12 core i7
(this) FE is an 8 core rysen.
