Various factors can contribute to the volume level difference. If the
recording uses a format that is supported by your sound system (for
example AC-3), and you have the correct settings in android setup, and
you select mediacodec, the encoded stream goes directly to the sound
system, where it is decoded into surround sound. In this case, the
android device has no control of the volume.

leanfront does nothing to affect the volume, whether or not it is passed
through to the sound system. If you select ffmpeg decoding, or you
select auto and the system selects ffmpeg, the audio is decoded by
ffmpeg and sent as PCM digital audio to the TV. Nothing is done to
affect the volume. To change the volume would require modifying the
digital stream.

There may be android settings on your device (e.g. quiet mode) that let
you adjust the overall audio volume or volume range.
