[mythtv-users] Phantom encoders appearing randomly

I've started to have this problem where new random encoders start to 
appear in the backend.  It is actually happening because the number of 
max recordings for one of the encoders keeps increasing on its own. I 
have two external recorders, but this only appears to happen to the 
first one.  They both had the 'Schedule as Group' option checked, and 
the help text says virtual inputs will automatically be added as needed 
to fulfill the recording load. Is this what's causing the new inputs?
