I see several discussion on cheap hardware for mythfrontend/leanfront
etc. So, I tried mythfrontend 0.31 on my current FireCube (which I think
I bought in 2018 or 2019). I had to fool with audio buffering till about
I added 900s before audio jitter went away. Even then the picture is
jerky and uneven. This is on recorded shows with hardwired networking.
I am wondering, if it is my hardware or some incorrect setting? I
followed the setting for firestick4K in
https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Android to get it going.
I also tried Leadfront. It is better, but still see issues. Besides, I
do not like its interface because I am so used to mythfrontend.
I am curious how much better a *new* FireCube 2021 is? Also how does
firecube vs. Walmart Onn
device?(https://www.walmart.com/ip/onn-Android-TV-UHD-Streaming-Device/636597403)
I have a very old version of intel Nuc (Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU N3700 @
1.60GHz) as another frontend which works very well when it runs, but the
hardware seem to have developed some issue, and it keeps hanging when I
pause/ff/rew etc. I am trying to replace that. Initially, I thought I
will do this
https://www.newegg.com/intel-boxnuc7pjyhn-nuc-kit/p/N82E16856102319?Item=N82E16856102319
or this,
https://www.microcenter.com/product/644887/intel-nuc-11-performance-kit-tall-(nuc11pahi5)
Clearly the second one is a overkill, but considering that I will use it
for next 5 years, I do not care that much. However, I do like the
compactness and ease of replacement with FireCube. So, want to make sure
that I am not missing anything hardware choices.
Regards
Ramesh
