Yes, my strategy may not suit everyone because of the time spent
checking the disks. But I would still recommend doing this at least on
the boot/root partition, or in general on all partitions that contain
data you value. Whether MythTV recordings fit that description or not is
a matter of personal preference.
Having said that, on my system the fscks don't take long because all my
disks are SSDs (except for the one I store the dirvish backups on --
that's spinning rust).
