Thats fixed it! it's now showing "Browse Library (recommended)" and no more loading delay.
not sure how that got set. It affected all 3 of my FE's i've tested so far and not something i've knowingly enabled... unless one FE can set it as a global setting and i've accidentally set it without noticing.
