Thanks for the response. I fixed it by clearing the Prefer OpenGL 
deinterlacers check box.

This gave me

mythvideoout.cpp:393 (SetDeinterlacing) VideoOutput: SetDeinterlacing 
(Doublerate 1): Single High|CPU Double High|CPU

which works great.

I have no idea whether I have set that flag myself or if its the default 
setting in the OpenGL High Quality profile, hence my query on how to get 
one of these provided profiles back to its defaults.
