I have also had to do several rescans as stations complete their repacks
here in the Davenport (IA) market.  What I've found is just letting
MythTV do the scan is easiest.  I haven't done the 'delete moved
channels' step because I didn't know about it until afterwards.  What I
get after the scan is a listing (in Editor) for the original/old channel
plus "1", "2", "3", etc., as the 'channel numbers' for the updated
stations.  Manually delete the old, edit the update, we're good to
watch.  Probably easier to delete the old first -- if there's another
rescan will do that.

As for missing channels on the scan, quite possible.  Wind gusts, etc.,
can cause that.  The tuner may be partially at fault: I've had nearly
perfect recordings even on the windiest days with my Hauppauge 1609.  So
would presume if the signal drops out during recording then it could
also be too low during a scan and not detected. (Have had 'regular' TVs
miss stations too.)

Re; missing listings, my only experience is with SchedulesDirect.  It
may appear the listing for the updated station is empty but try to scan
over in the Guide to look at a later time.  SD seems to post data in
blocks. so if you scan a little after 9 a.m. you might not have data
until noon (three hour block).  After that it is filled in.  (Manually
record if the data block is empty!).

You are probably correct.  Towards the bottom on the configuration
screen where one selects the button to start scanning is a setting for
which channel to start with when selecting Live TV.  (I think it changes
with each successful Live TV session.)  Update that setting to an old
(not recently repacked) station.  You should be able to then Up_arrow or
Down_arrow through the stations.  (My tuner wants the underscore versus
'dot' as the separator -- not convenient to manually enter in a hurry!)

Hope this gave some insight!

Barry
