Using vlc from my computer and accessing the Mythtv computer directly, both ts
and mp4 files play as expected. The mp4 files are in the recording and video
section - both work.

With webfrontend and using the download option, the ts files will not play
at all (vlc does not display anything on the screen) and the mp4 files play but
no sound. However mp4 files from the video list do play correctly.

I also copied a mp4 and a ts file (from the recordings directory) to the video
directory. Webfrontend has the same results as when the files were in the
recording directory.

Since you do not have this problem; this leads me to believe I need to
download/install a mythtv package or a setting that is wrong.
