It would depend on you needs, but for me I wanted to export a Recorded
TV series that I wanted to keep on a USB Flash drive to use on a laptop
when I travel for amusement.
All my TV recordings are over the air USA MPEG2 ATSC format. I found a
script on mythtv forum that you could setup as a job on mythtv to
transcode to mp4v and send to a NAS or other storage device.
https://forum.mythtv.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1261&p=7857&hilit=sendTVtonas#p7857
So my process was to go through the list of episodes and edit out the
commercials, then tag each one with the post processing job of
sendTVtonNAS and move on to the next. At the end I had all recordings
in a directory on my external storage. The filenames were tagged with
the show name and episode number.
There are a few edits of the script to make it do exactly what you want.
