There is no nice solution. The screensaver issue is now fixed and IMHO using 29 or 30 would save you lots of hours.
To get the best of no-screensaver-during-mythtv but screensaver the rest of time I hacked the source

On a 1 min timer
I moved the mouse a few pixels

My code is long gone else I’d post it.
