> If so, your signal is almost certainly too hot for the HDHomerun device.  Television sets generally have additional circuitry that attenuates the signal back down to something usable.  That probably accounts for your TV locking onto signals and the HDHR not.

circling back with a quick update, I  (reluctantly) upgraded to a
HDHR5-2US replacing my HDHR-T1-US - seems to be faring well. It has
locked on to channels!
