[mythtv-users] BE3 - Issues with installation and database

Hi Stephen!
As long as you have the Ethernet cable out, this will not work. It is
correct for a config.xml on another PC where you want mythfrontend to
connect to this backend, but it would be better to be changed to
localhost in all config.xml files on the backend PC.
Sorry: had forgotten to mention I unplugged BE2 and plugged in BE3
(the one we’re working on). As Bill’s message posted before your’s
followed his (I think I did correctly) and seems things are not as
expected. Assuming “all” config.xmls is just the two in the diff
command:
diff -u //etc/mythtv/config.xml /home/mythtv//.mythtv/config.xml
Should only need /home/mythtv/.mythtv/config.xml, right? (Based on
mythbackend.log.) I did alter both just in case, which seemed to
make things worse.
Hopefully what I post as “Terminal replies” (responses from the
command line, what I see, etc.) makes some sense to you and Bill. I
vaguely understand.
Thanks!
Barry
