Your default recording rule will apply only to recordings which you have 
scheduled after the default was set.  I use start 2 min early, end 4 min 
late, but those offsets aren't always enough.  You can edit them 
individually by selecting the recording and pressing the Edit key, 
probably E, at any time before the recording ends.

The default rule is edited from

Frontend > Manage Recordings > Recording Rules  > Default(Template)
