I guess I deleted too much of the first text I wrote. I do have autostart
set and when I power up Myth starts without any prompt. I only get the
prompt on restart from my new CTRL-ALT-Backspace key sequence.

I have read instructions to go into the power-manager and unclick "lock
screen when going from suspend/hibernate" But I do not have power-manager
installed and the last time I installed something from a Google search
suggestion it took half a day to get my system back where it worked so I
wasn't going to go there without some confirmation that it was still
relevant for Mythbuntu 16. I may have said 18 earlier but that was an error.

I assume that the power-manager is some frontend for a command I need to
change in some config file but I can't find reference to where or what it
is. I don't even know if that is the issue as I am not really coming out of
hibernate but rather restarting X.

Mythbunty has xfce.

I set autologon when I installed Myth and checked that it was set here

*dad at NewMyth:~$ more /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf*
*[SeatDefaults]*
*user-session=mythbuntu*
*allow-guest=false*
*#autologin-user=*
*[Seat:*]*
*autologin-guest=false*
*autologin-user=dad*
*autologin-user-timeout=0*

In case it is relevant, I have the screensaver disabled.

Allen

On the double instance of Myth. I just repeated it and was able to close
one instance just like you close Myth and then there was just one.
