I have done a quick test with a TBS9528 and DVB-C with a CAM and a
smartcard and this works OK on encrypted channels, running today's
master. This card is a single channel version from your TBS9590. Until
proven otherwise this means that the card and the MythTV support for
the card is OK.

I do not know exactly when DVB-S2 support was added but v29 is rather
old. Could it be that the FTA channels you found were DVB-S and not
S2? The stream on Hotbird 13B, 10971MHz/horizontal which has SRF1
and SRF2 is DVB-S2.

I suggest that you try today's master and if that does not work then
please create a ticket.
A log file created with "mythbackend -v general, dvbcam
--loglevel=debug --logpath=. " should be attached in order to make
analysis possible.

BTW, I have added symbol rate 29700000 to the popup list so that will
make your life a little bit easier :)

Groetjes,
Klaas.
