It is a Seagate BarraCuda which I have swapped with Amazon.
Could this be database related? I ran optimize_mythdb.pl and haven't heard
the pop since. also put the script into /etc/cron.weekly.

Since I have switched all the hardware, PS, mobo, sata cable, HDD, and the
problem persists, it would seem to be software, no?

I'm hoping (desperately) it was the database.
