Are you sure it really locks up the frontend, or does it, perhaps,
switch focus to some other window? Sometimes these sorts of keys get
programmed to do things in other applications, and MFE loses focus. You
might try pressing Alt-Tab afterward (depending on your window manager),
to see if this is the case.
