[mythtv-users] server upgrade - BE on immutable OS (Fedora silverblue)?

currently, i'm running my BE on centos7. Mythtv is compiled from source and uses a PCIe tuner. server runs headless in console only.
i use 'ssh -X' to gain access to mythtv-setup.
All my other services are in docker and when my DVB-S2 tuner dies, very likely be an IP tuner so i can put the BE into a container as well.

the official "upgrade" path to centos8 is a clean install with no in-place upgrade path.

Question is, since I'm having to reinstall the OS does anyone have any experience with mythtv (or even in general) running on an immutable OS? I've still got a lot of research to do for the move although on the small amount of info i have understood, the move to silverblue should be the last "upgrade" reinstall i have to do. silverblue appears to be an ever rolling stone and primarily flatpak (which a mythtv package is not available)
