I too also got to shed my windows laptop when retired a couple years ago as well! 

I currently use a Mac mini  and Linux(multiple forms, virtual and real hardware) for my Desktops of choice.  I have been around UNIX/Linux since 1980, so am not always sure the background of others when discussing on the mailing lists!
