It's important to note however that as of MythTV 30 the hdhomerun
library is apparently no longer bundled into the MythTV source, and
does in fact depend on the underlying system for that:

I still have 29.1 here, but I've been meaning to request a version
bump for Gentoo for media-libs/libhdhomerun for that reason.
DryHeat122: As to the issues you're having, those all appear to be gtk
dependencies of the hdhomerun_config_gui and I'd argue there's no good
reason for using the GUI at all. As far as I know, the libhdhomerun by
itself includes the command line /usr/bin/hdhomerun_config in addition
to the libhdhomerun.so library and that certainly works for everything
I've ever need to do. I don't believe that it relies on anything aside
from basic libc stuff.
