"The bottom line" - see above :-) suggests that this stuckness has now
gone away.

I had similar experiences with recent master on two systems; one with
two DVB-T-only devices and one with 1xDVB-T-only + 1xDVB-T/T2. Part of
this might have been caused by aiming at a moving target, but both
systems are now working as expected - although the channel names of old
recordings are no longer displayed. Ticket #13014 has more details.

I have another comment about the DVB-T2 services in the UK. I got my
first device quite early, but didn't record much in HD because the
benefit seemed not usually worth the disadvantages. Then the device
started giving overcurrent warnings...

But recently I needed a new usb tuner, and got a MyGica T230. My
location now has 3 DVB-T2 muxes, and some of the channels have content
that isn't available via DVB-T; in particular, PBS-America and the
Smithsonian channel look to me like worthwhile additions. Some of the
content is old, and the format is 544x576, but it's different window on
the world. And my h264-cutting script, neglected since last year and
now with minor tweaks, seems to let me cut out the ads...
