Much easier is to start by looking at MythTV's reason for not recording
the showing. Go to the frontend and select Manage Recordings|Previously
Recorded. Then find the failed recording and see why it said it
failed. My guess is "not found", which means that something (such as
the start and/or end time of the recording) changed since the rule (a
"this showing", single-record rule) was created (even a 1s change makes
for a different showing, and, therefore defeats a "this showing" rule).
That would mean that your guide data changed between the time you
created the rule and the time the show was aired. If so, you either
need to use "looser" rules (all/anytime) or get better guide data.

And, then again, are you really sure you want to be using EIT guide data
in the first place? If you are UTC -0400, you may well have the option
of using a good guide data source, such as Schedules Direct.
