[mythtv-users] mythbackend crashes on any recording in Fedora 28

Hello,

Since upgrading to Fedora 28 mythbackend crashes whenever any recording
is active.  This makes mythtv completely unusable - we cannot even watch
previous recordings.

I'm sure I've not done anything stupid and the error is hard to
determine, but the most recent crash includes the lines:
"
C  Received Aborted: Code -6, PID 2060, UID 992, Value 0x00000000
I  Control sock(13d1040) disconnected
I  TVRec[2]: ASK_RECORDING 2 0 0 0
...
mythbackend.service: Main process exited, code=killed, status=6/ABRT
mythbackend.service: Failed with result 'signal'.
"

An older log includes:

"
I [3022/3525] TVRecEvent tv_rec.cpp:1088 (HandleStateChange) - TVRec[1]:
Changing from None to RecordingOnly
I [3022/3525] TVRecEvent mythdbcon.cpp:435 (PurgeIdleConnections) - New
DB connection, total: 9
I [3022/3525] TVRecEvent tv_rec.cpp:3657 (TuningFrequency) - TVRec[1]:
TuningFrequency
I [3022/4462] Scheduler scheduler.cpp:2924 (HandleRecordingStatusChange)
- Tuning recording: "Have You Been Paying Attention?": channel 1080 on
cardid [1], sourceid 1
C [3022/3022] CoreContext programinfo.cpp:340 (ProgramInfo) -
ProgramInfo(): Failed to find recorded entry for 0.
C [3022/3022] CoreContext signalhandling.cpp:305 (handleSignal) -
Received Aborted: Code -6, PID 3022, UID 992, Value 0x00000000
"

I did some googling and found various references to problems with
mythbacked in Fedora 28, however I cannot see if any are related to my
problem.  Could someone please help me diagnose this?

I'm running fully updated Fedora 28 with the latest RPMfusion package:
mythtv-backend-29.1-17.19.20180510.g0849e99596.fc28.x86_64
I have a DVBSky T982 tuner and don't watch any material with DRM
This same system has been stable with Fedora 26 & 27.

Thanks,

Jake
