[mythtv-users] lirc issue on rp3

I have an MCE remote on RP3 
I am running the latest version of mythtv-light
lircd 0.9.4c
my devinput config is generated by lirc-make-devinput
In mythtv frontend, when I press a button on the remote (example the down arrow button), mythtv goes crazy and sees it and continues to scroll the down button.   
When I run ir-keytable,  it sees the button and release of the key, but in mythtv it is like the button is being held down.   
Any thoughts on how to fix or troubleshoot?
