It may be some time before it's clear that this was the problem, but I 
remember it going way back to ATrpms days.  Perhaps the specfile should 
have a

Requires:  mythtv-libs        = %{epoch}:%{version}-%{release}

in the -backend or -common sections, rather than leaving it to the 
mythtv metapackage?  epoch 'optional'
