Hi:  This isn't the answer you're looking for, but you might like to 
look at my mythTScut script.  I wrote it for dvb-t HD recordings, and 
the output has only 2 streams, video and main audio..It uses mythffmpeg. 
There's no re-encoding, so it's quick, although cutting requires two passes.

I was never entirely happy with the results immediately after a cut or 
switches between progressive and interlaced formats.  Playback was often 
better via UPnP.

It was getting to look worthwhile until my only DVB-T2 device started 
giving usb over-current problems :-(  I'm still wondering how much 
storage I really want.
