Our primary platform by installed user base is Ubuntu.
As a consequence we are trying to release major versions
to be part of each LTS release.

Centos has minimal user base, and is really only for fans
of rpm based distros that want stability.

Go with what works for you, given you've always used something
ubuntu based, install latest ubuntu lts release and enable the
mythtv ppa.
