After my initial fumblings mine is giving excellent results with
DVB-T/T2 recordings and 'Videos' created from them, playing on an
1920x1080 TV. I don't have content or hardware for 4k, but bought that
model because it seemed likely to be more capable.
I have had it doing all that with software decoding, because h264
post-processed by my experimental ffmpeg-based cutting program did,
IIRC, cause hangs at some cuts. At present the h264 stuff is failing
anyway, but I'm almost sure that's because I have strayed in some way
from the recommended settings.
I don't think mythfrontend is affected by the 20-minute timeout when
using a browser, which I mentioned in another thread, but I reset that
to 5 hours and the tv timed out instead.
