Just to help with reducing the typing required - there is no need to
put .service on names used with systemctl as that will be added by
default. If you are referring to another type of systemd unit, you do
need the full name.
And I recommend also further reducing your typing by using aliases for
systemctl commands. I have this in my ~/.bash_aliases files:
alias sc='systemctl'
alias jc='journalctl'
alias sco='systemctl stop'
alias scs='systemctl start'
alias scr='systemctl resart'
alias scst='systemctl status'
I have never understood why they used such long names for things that
sysadmins have to type all the time.
