[mythtv-users] Using TV remote to control MythTV frontend on Raspberry, Pi

Hi Jeff!

Admittedly  I'm several days slow in replying -- usually I'm the one
asking questions, not giving answers, but here goes (and looks like no
one has answered).

Check at https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Raspberry_Pi#Raspbian the section
entitled "Remote Control with CEC".   The section lists commands to
enable/disable CEC, dependent on the remote and TV.  If you type
'mythfrontend' (without the quotes) in Terminal you can see there is a
pause when 'CECAdapter: asked TV to switch to this input' is loaded
while starting Mythfrontend, plus when exit (back to the Desktop) can
see it (CEC)  being closed down.

Frankly at this point it's all theoretical to me as I'm waiting for my
IR detector to arrive.  Hopefully the link will give you some answers.

Barry
