The content of the .ts files is just the same as it was when they were
recorded as .mpg files.  So all you need to do is rename them.  It
would be relatively straightforward to write a script that ran at the
end of a recording that did that automatically.  Or you could create a
link to the .ts file that had a .mpg name, and get the TV to play
that.

But surely it would be better to be playing the files using
mythfrontend?  The skipping would likely work much better, due to the
recordedseek table.  My experience with TVs playing via upnp is that
if they play the file, it is still not the best experience and
mythfrontend works much better.
