reinstalling mythtv-frontend got the fonts updated. something funky with the code where it'll touch the file first but only download font if file exists... maybe that isnt the right way around?

had to add one package too: dejavu-sans-fonts, as i was getting the following error in mythfrontend console:
E MythFontProperties: Failed to load 'DejaVu Sans', got 'Noto Sans' instead
			Location: /usr/share/mythtv/themes/default-wide/base.xml @ 6
			Name: 'basesmall'	Type: 'fontdef'

my system is now font error free! Thanks for the help guys
