yeah, real files in the '/usr/share/mythtv/fonts/' dir.
i checked for symlinks just before posting, which i why i ask here rather than look at a distro-level package.
off the top of my head, i'm using the 'mythtv-frontend' package and allowing that to satisfy dependencies.
i guess i could go hunting for the .ttf files online and wget them manually, but if there is an issue or a package that i can add to my build notes then i'd rather go that way.
it's not causing any obvious theme issues with the fallback font it's using, but might as well get things working the best i can.
