No.  The Delete > "Yes, and allow re-record" option will always allow
the program to re-record.  The Delete > "Yes, delete it" option will
just delete the recording and will not affect any re-recording, so if
it is going to re-record due to damage, it will still re-record.  So
if you see it in the list of upcoming programs, you need to go to it,
hit Enter or OK and select "Never record this episode". Unfortunately,
from a damaged recording before you delete it, there is no way I know
of to say not to re-record it.

However, if mythbackend has in fact marked a recording as damaged,
then it *will* have a noticeable problem somewhere, which will affect
watching it.  Sometimes the problem can be outside the actual program
(eg in pre- or post-roll, or in an ad break) and the program can be
watchable, but most times it will affect you.  One thing that can
happen is you suddenly realise that you do not know what an actor is
talking about - they are referring to some dialog a little earlier
that you never heard because it was swallowed by a gap.
