[mythtv-users] UK Freeview scanning broken?

I've had cause to rescan tonight so we can continue to use the channel
'Tiny Pop' which my kids seem to have grown accustomed to.

So off I went into mythtv-setup, stopped mythbackend, yada yada.. so far so
good right?

Until the scanner found umpteen dozen channels I never had before - all
with the wrong channel numbers. I deleted all the channels & tried a full
scan. Again, BBC ONE etc all had completely meaningless channel numbers -
not the LCNs you'd expect of Freeview channels. BBC ONE NE&C came out with
a channum of 4169 instead of 1 for example.

So then I went & cleaned out everything from the database to do with
channel storage (naughty) - and did a full scan again. Same story.

The dvb 'scan' (not dvbscan) utility came up trumps but of course doesn't
seem to output LCNs.

Has something changed radically with Freeview lately that might have broken
myth's scanning? I'm very out of touch with how DVB scanning works in the
program these days - is there a fixup needed? Would posting dvb stream
dumps help? My TV, FWIW, manages to scan channels just fine so I don't
think the local transmitter is borked.

Anyone have any ideas what's up?

Best regards,
Justin
