This isn't the case for the HD-PVR.  The Zilog driver receives and
transmits in two different formats (unlike most other LIRC based
devices).  I haven't had to set it up for a number of years, but you
can look in the archives for any of the other Zilog based devices for
how to get blasting working (i.e. PVR-150, HVR-1600, etc).  You can't
send the Zilog arbitrary waveforms or RC-5 codes like you can for most
other devices.  You have to load a binary blob with arbitrary codesets
and pick the appropriate codeset for your STB.
