I don't seem to have ~/.asoundrc
asound.conf has only the following:

files [
"/etc/alsa/pulse-default.conf"

}
]

I am thinking I have to add the context after this? What is weird is that
there's no file at /etc/alsa/pulse-default.conf - only alsactl.conf

This may be because the person on the link wanted to set up a 7.1 whereas I
am trying to get a 5.1 set up
